Focus and Motivational Disorders

Focus and Motivational Disorders

When you are studying, working on a task, or not making progress on a deadline, you may think that you have a problem focusing or that you are not motivated enough for what you are doing.

In such cases, taking a break, doing something else and distracting your thoughts from the work you cannot focus on can help you relax. When you feel ready, you can try to focus again.

Reducing the stimuli around you and, if possible, staying away from objects such as the television and telephone can make it easier for you to focus on what you are working on. If you are having motivational problems with what you are doing, you can try to make your work more fun for yourself.

You can set up a reward system for yourself. By giving yourself small rewards, you can increase your motivation to move forward with a task.
