What is psychodrama?
Psychodrama is a therapy and dramatic method developed to help individuals understand their emotional and social problems. Psychodrama was introduced in the early 20th century by Austrian psychiatrist Jacob L. Moreno, known as Moreno's founder. This therapy method provides an interactive environment within the group by creating a stage for individuals to explore their inner world and express their emotional experiences.
Psychodrama sessions are usually guided by a group therapist and participants express their emotional experiences by acting out a specific topic or experience. Group members take on roles and try to understand each other's perspectives, a process that helps them develop empathy, emotional release and personal growth. Psychodrama is also used as an effective tool for understanding group dynamics, strengthening communication and improving social skills.
This therapy method supports individuals to confront their past experiences and find solutions to their current problems. The basic philosophy of psychodrama is to enable people to explore their emotional expressions by acting out their own stories and thus contribute to the process of psychological healing.
