Becoming an Individual

Becoming an Individual

Being and remaining an individual in a dense crowd is a value that we must remember every second we breathe. If we can succeed in being an individual, we can also succeed in being a community. Just like the colorful flowers together in a beautiful garden. Flowers show their differences best among plants of the opposite color and species, and when they are together, they can give the feeling of being a whole. To create a diverse, attractive, and free garden, it is necessary to make use of all the blessings of nature. Just as Mother Nature can make all living things live together without any discrimination. We humans can use everything we have to be like each other, to be one voice, one color, one mind, without hesitation, even at the cost of killing the other person. How right is it to look alike and be one voice? If even the body needs many organs with different qualities and quantities such as heart, liver, veins, skin, kidney, intestine, brain, skeleton, eyes, ears, etc. to exist and continue its existence in a healthy way, we need all voices, colors and perspectives for a better world and a free tomorrow.

In order to make food, we need ingredients of different qualities and quantities. Just like we need minced meat, salt, onion, spices, bread, tomato paste, etc. to make a good meatball. In other words, we need different elements to make a good meal, a hopeful tomorrow, a loving union, an original song, a different painting, a sturdy car, an earthquake-resistant house, a quality dress. So, we need each other for a strong tomorrow. Why do we wear each other out to create a uniform human model when we hear these requirements? Lovers can go to great lengths to make their partners look like them, states use the media, education, security forces, the legal system, the phenomenon of religion to unite their people under a single system of thought, feudal relations use traditions and customs to create a uniform human being. This understanding leads to the taste of meatballs without minced meat, spices, onions, or salt, or to a human type without kidneys, heart, or brain. We must use our differences to become whole.

Communities that are formed without being individuals are nothing but dry crowds and robotized masses. We must first become individuals; we must come to the point of meeting all the freedoms of the individual within common dreams and hopes. In this, we must look for ways to move towards each other rather than directing each other.
